The Awel Môr is a large Victorian Guest House dating back to the late 1800’s. Our accommodation is located in an enviable position directly on the sea front, close to the historic Criccieth Castle in the delightfully unspoilt seaside town of Criccieth on the Lleyn Peninsula.

The Awel Môr is a family run non-smoking Guesthouse that offers relaxing accommodation with the emphasis on cleanliness quality and comfort.  Each of our 9 bedrooms have an en-suite, colour t.v , self controlled heating and a well stocked hospitality tray.

Just a short stroll from the Awel Môr will bring you into Criccieth town centre where there are a variety of shops and pubs and many excellent restaurants to suit all tastes.

Criccieth is nestled between the harbour towns of Pwllheli and Porthmadog and is an ideal base for touring the Lleyn Peninsula and Snowdon National Park or for just simply relaxing on one of its two award winning beaches that are separated by the historic Criccieth castle.

Nearby attractions include the famous Snowdon Mountain Railway, which takes you to the summit of the highest mountain in England and Wales.  The picturesque village and gardens of Portmeirion with its colourful buildings and woodland walks are another popular choice with visitors as is the Ffestiniog Railway and the Welsh Highland Railway with their narrow gauge steam trains.

With its spectacular scenery,  picturesque villages, historical castles, slate mines and museums, Criccieth on the Lleyn Peninsula is a superb location for families, walkers, climbers, cyclists, golfers and other outdoor enthusiasts.
